Perhaps one of the most known and intriguing of the places in southren Botswana, this hill stands majestically on the side of the road approximately 20 Km from Lobatse on your way to Gaborone the capital of the country just after Otse village,

Legend has it that as is sometimes the case with the love affair in the country or any other black community, there was a couple whose relationship was forbidden by the parents of both lovers, as to why that was the case, no one realy knows but the most probable reason was that the parents felt their chosen patners was not right for the other.

As fate would have it, their love was stronger than their parents' will so they decided to elope. one of the ealy risers saw them running towards the hill in the wee hours of the morning and they were never found again, they were never found again and were believed to have disappered on the hill.

Baratani cliffs
Baratani cliffs - Others assumed the lovers jumped to their demise in one of these cliffs
One would be forgiven for thinking that on days like valentines day, people would go there to comemorate their love, but since the disappearance of those two, the hill of lovers is out bounds to people. no one can climb it and come back
